INTENTIONAL TEACHING
Intentional teaching involves an ongoing cycle of observation, assessment, planning and documentation. Children are involved in writing, measuring, reading, hypothesizing and discussing their project work. With each course of study, our teachers draw on their expertise in early childhood education to help students expand their knowledge base as it relates to the world.

To inspire and challenge each student, our teachers set individualized learning goals within the four domains of the Connecticut Performance Standards: Personal and Social Development, Physical Development, Cognitive Development and Language Development. Using this approach, they create an assessment portfolio to use as a starting point for discussion during fall and spring parent teacher conferences.
