Meet the staff
Rosalie Witt, Director of Education
Rosalie holds a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Special Education from Southern
Connecticut State University. She completed her Bachelor's Degree in Human Development
and Family Relations with a concentration in Early Childhood Education and
Development from the University of Connecticut. She is the President Elect of
the South Fairfield Association for the Education of Young Children. Rosalie
has been at New Canaan Community Nursery School for 8 years.
Carla Vroman, Head Teacher and Assistant Director
Carla has a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Development from Lynchburg College
in Virginia and is certified to teach grades K-6 in Virginia and Connecticut.
Carla has been teaching at New Canaan Community Nursery School for 5 years.
Mary Britto, Head Teacher
Mary graduated from Western Connecticut State University with
a Bachelor's Degree in Social Science. She also has an Associate's
Degree in Early Childhood from Teikyo Post University. Mary
has been teaching at New Canaan Community Nursery School for
12 years.
Giselle Coven, Head Teacher & Lunch
Bunch Coordinator
Giselle has an Associate's Degree from Norwalk Community College
in Early Childhood Education. She completed
her Bachelor's
Degree in Human Services and Family Development from University of Connecticut in Stamford.
Giselle has been teaching at New Canaan Community Nursery School
for 6 years.
Fran Biasetti, Floater
Fran received her Bachelor's Degree in Human Development and
Family Relations with a concentration in Early Childhood Education
and Development from the University of Connecticut. After college,
she taught in Westport and had the opportunity to work one-on-one
with special needs children. Fran has been with New Canaan Community Nursery School for 6 years.
Sondra Maiolo, Teacher
Sondra graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University with a Bachelor of Art Degree in Visual Arts and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education. She also holds a Connecticut Teaching Certificate for Early Childhood Education and Special Education. This is her first year at New Canaan Community Nursery School.
Erica Morabito , Teacher
Erica has received a Child Associate Credential. She is attending Western Connecticut State University and is working on completing her Bachelor’s Degree in History. She plans to pursue an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education once she has completed her Bachelor’s Degree. She has been working in the early childhood field for three years. This is her first year at NCCNS.
Maritza Cano , Teacher
Maritza has completed her Associate's Degree from Norwalk Community College in Early Childhood Education. She is a current student at the University of Connecticut in Stamford, pursing a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services and Family Development. This is her first year at New Canaan Community Nursery School.
Collen Ehring , Teacher
Colleen is certified in Connecticut to teach elementary (K-6). She is currently working on completing her Master’s Degree in Education at Sacred Heart University. She has been working in the Norwalk and New Canaan school systems for the past two years. This is her first year at New Canaan Community Nursery School.
