New Canaan Community Preschool embraces the Project Approach to teaching, a constructivist philosophy that empowers children to take initiative, make choices and work collaboratively towards a goal. By observing, understanding and supporting individual development, we create the foundation for lifelong learning.
Our center-based classrooms encourage active exploration of math, science, language, art and social and emotional learning, all of which help to ensure a smooth transition from nursery school to kindergarten.
Located within twelve acres of Kiwanis Park, our school is structured to encourage curiosity, inspire creativity and build a strong sense of community. Our classrooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows that showcase the beauty of our two playgrounds, nature path and organic garden.
A non-profit organization, New Canaan Community Preschool has been accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children since 1992.
